Belmont Freeman Architects always surprises me with his ability to redefine my perception of space. Their amazing project named Kowalewski Residence in Atlantic Beach, New York is my favorite one. I love the use of space, the diverse design, the surprisingly rounded window and everything that Kowalewski Residence has. This house was designed for single family with 2 small children. To protect the privacy, the street façade is nearly blank, while the principal rooms all open onto the garden to the south.

Kowalewski Residence nestled on 3.600 sf Nassau County beach community. The principal materials are stone, stucco, steel and glass. The relatively closed façade provides privacy from the street, while the main living area opens to the side garden. A roof terrace offers panoramic ocean views. Openness and freedom are fantasies I can buy into and celebrate. The Kowalewski residence does not maximize either the bulk or lot coverage allowed by zoning. It is oriented with the narrow face – only slightly wider than the former house on the lot – toward the street, with the traditional side driveway and rear garage. Exterior and interior, both boast its superb and fantastic design.Visit Belmont Freeman Architects to see the rest.
