A strong indoor outdoor connection was found at this interesting contemporary residence from Pitagoras Architects. The modern residence is located in Guimaraes, Portugal, and what makes it interesting is that it’s able to “defeat its accentuated slope”. The modern building design is actually down to earth as in mean that only two out of three floors are above the ground.

Pitagoras Architects description of this home is as follow “All floors are contemplated with covered or uncovered verandas and patios that are closed off or open to the landscape, creating variable possibilities of inhabiting spaces, taking advantage of the light and scenery that change with the different seasons. Thus, the dense white volume acquires, with its large openings and differentiating materials, contrasting hollows.” Although it’s like another typical contemporary house which looks boxy and white, this house is still a fun and entertaining crib with a pool outside and a good landscape management.
